Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement 2.5L and 2.0L Gasoline Engines

Removal Procedure

  1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle. Use a rag in order to absorb any spilled fluid.
  3. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.

  5. Object Number: 1862543  Size: SH
  6. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose (3) from the power steering pump inlet (2).
  7. Remove the reservoir outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Route the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir to the power steering pump.

  2. Object Number: 1862543  Size: SH
  3. Install the reservoir outlet hose (3) and the hose clamp to the power steering pump inlet (2).

  4. Object Number: 1862517  Size: SH
  5. Install the hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir outlet.
  6. Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
  8. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
  10. Inspect for leaks. If there are leaks, correct the cause of the leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks.

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement 2.0L Diesel Engine

Removal Procedure

  1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle. Use a rag in order to absorb any spilled fluid.
  3. Remove the engine beauty cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  4. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.

  6. Object Number: 1862525  Size: SH
  7. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose (1) from the power steering pump inlet (2).
  8. Remove the reservoir outlet hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Route the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir to the power steering pump.

  2. Object Number: 1862525  Size: SH
  3. Install the reservoir outlet hose (1) and the hose clamp to the power steering pump inlet (2).

  4. Object Number: 1862517  Size: SH
  5. Install the hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir outlet.
  6. Install the engine beauty cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  7. Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
  9. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
  11. Inspect for leaks. If there are leaks, correct the cause of the leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks.
