Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Pipe Replacement Intake
Removal Procedure
- Remove the intake exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe retaining bolts and the intake EGR pipe.
- Remove the intake EGR pipe gasket.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.
- Clean the intake EGR pipe mating surfaces.
- Install a new gasket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the intake EGR pipe.
Tighten
Tighten the intake EGR pipe retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Pipe Replacement Exhaust
Removal Procedure
- Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe flange-to-EGR valve retaining bolts.
- Remove the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head long side retaining bolt.
- Remove the EGR pipe gasket.
- Remove the EGR pipe-to-heater adapter retaining nuts.
- Remove the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head short side retaining bolt.
- Remove the EGR pipe gasket.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.
- Clean the EGR pipe mating surfaces.
- Install a new EGR pipe gasket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the EGR pipe.
Tighten
• | Tighten the EGR pipe-to-heater adapter retaining nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in). |
• | Tighten the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head short side retaining bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft). |
- Install the remaining EGR pipe bolts.
Tighten
• | Tighten the EGR pipe flange-to-EGR valve retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in). |
• | Tighten the exhaust pipe bracket-to-cylinder head long side retaining bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in). |
