Subject: | New Product Information for Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) |
Models: | 2007 Chevrolet Epica (Export Only) |
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform dealers of new features on the 2007 Chevrolet Epica that may require special attention during pre-delivery inspection.
All 2007 Chevrolet Epica vehicles are shipped with the shunt connector in the OFF position. This shunt connector is located in the left I/P fuse panel.
The following components will not operate when the shunt connector is in the OFF position: radio, subwoofer speaker, digital clock, A/C control switch, and key reminder illumination.
Important: The shunt connector should be moved to the ON position prior to customer test drives or delivery of vehicle to customers. Remove the shunt connector and re-install it with the locking tab towards the ON label.
If the vehicle will sit for extended periods, the shunt connector position should be moved to the OFF position to prevent accessories from placing a parasitic load on the battery. Refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 06-08-45-002 for more information.
The wheel covers are shipped in the trunk. The license plate screws and Owners Manual* are located inside the glove box.
* The Owners Manual is not shipped with the vehicle for European countries.
The vehicle's tires are inflated to 38 psi (262 kPa) for shipment. The pressure must be reduced to 30 psi (207 kPa) prior to delivery to the customer. The tire pressures should be checked when the tires are cold. The tire pressure label can be found inside the glove box door.
Press the brake to shift from Park ("P"). The shifter uses a release button that has to be pushed to release the shifter. To shift the transmission from Neutral ("N") to Reverse ("R"), you must push the release button on the front of the selector grip.
Important: GM strongly requests dealers to ensure adequate quantities of Dex-Cool® coolant are available before start of sales.
The 2007 Chevrolet Epica uses orange Dex-Cool® coolant. When the cooling system either needs to be topped off or flushed, Dex-Cool® coolant must be used. Do not mix with the conventional green silicate coolant. For additional information, refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 00-06-02-006A.
Notice: When adding fluid or making a complete fluid change, always use the proper power steering fluid. Failure to use the proper fluid will cause hose and seal damage and fluid leaks.
Use DEXRON®II D or DEXRON®III. Check the fluid level and adjust as necessary.
Notice: Do NOT use DEXRON®III or Type IV fluid in this transmission. Use of any transmission fluid other than the recommended fluid may cause transmission/transaxle damage. Verify that the correct type of transmission fluid is being used by checking the reservoir cap.
The automatic transmission uses ESSO JWS 3309 US ATF or ESSO JWS 3317 US ATF.
Notice: Use only DOT-4 brake fluid. Also, do not mix with the conventional DOT-3 brake fluid. Failure to use the proper fluid will cause seal damage and fluid leaks.
The 2007 Chevrolet Epica uses DOT-4 brake fluid.
Both the cigarette lighter and the accessory power outlet only operate when the ignition is turned to the "ACC" and "On" positions.
