Inspect fuse F20.

Is fuse F20 open?

Go to Step 3

  1. Test for a short circuit and repair the short circuit, if necessary.
  2. Replace the fuse F20.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Use a voltmeter to test the voltage at terminal 5 of both the left and the right heated seat switch.

Is the voltage within the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Repair the open circuit between the fuse F20 and terminal 5 of the heated seat switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  2. Turn the heated seat switch ON.
  3. Use the voltmeter to test the voltage at terminal 2 of both the left and the right heated seat switch.

Is the voltage within the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Replace the heated seat switch. Refer to Front Seat Heater Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  2. Turn the heated seat switch ON.
  3. Use the voltmeter to test the voltage at terminal 1 of the heated seat.

Is the voltage within the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 9

Repair the open circuit between terminal 1 and terminal 2 of the left or the right heated seat.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  2. Turn the heated seat switch ON.
  3. Use the voltmeter to test the voltage at terminal 2 of the heated seat.

Is the voltage within the specified value?

11-14 V

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 11

Replace the left or the right heated seat. Refer to Front Seat Heater Element Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Replace the open ground circuit.

Is the repair complete?
