Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the variable intake system (VIS) vacuum tank. Refer to Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Vacuum Reservoir Replacement .



3. Remove the wiring harness from the support bracket.



4. Disconnect the knock sensor wiring harness connector.
5. Remove the knock sensor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

1. Install the knock sensor.

Tighten
Tighten the knock sensor retaining bolt to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).

2. Connect the knock sensor wiring harness connector.



3. Install the wiring harness to the support bracket.



4. Install the VIS vacuum tank. Refer to Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Vacuum Reservoir Replacement .

Tighten
Tighten the VIS vacuum tank retaining bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

5. Connect the negative battery cable.
