Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1255596 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitable support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the cap and nuts from the strut upper area.

    3. Object Number: 1255598 Size: SH
  3. Remove the wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  4. On vehicles equipped with an antilock brake system (ABS), disconnect the ABS sensor line from the strut assembly. Refer to Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement .
  5. Remove the brake hose e-ring and disconnect the brake hose.
  6. Remove the strut bracket bolts and nuts.
  7. Remove the strut assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1255599 Size: SH
  1. Install the strut assembly and the strut bracket bolts and nuts.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the strut bracket bolts and nuts to 140 N·m (103 lb ft).

  2. Install the brake hose and install the e-ring.
  3. If equipped, connect the ABS sensor line.

    4. Object Number: 1255600 Size: SH
  4. Install the cap and nuts from the strut upper areas.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the strut nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the wheels.
