Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement 2.5L and 2.0L Gasoline Engines

1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle. Use a rag in order to absorb any spilled fluid.

Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.




3. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.



4. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose (3) from the power steering pump inlet (2).
5. Remove the reservoir outlet hose from the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

1. Route the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir to the power steering pump.



2. Install the reservoir outlet hose (3) and the hose clamp to the power steering pump inlet (2).



3. Install the hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir outlet.

4. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.

5. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
6. Inspect for leaks. If there are leaks, correct the cause of the leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks.

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement 2.0L Diesel Engine

1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle. Use a rag in order to absorb any spilled fluid.
3. Remove the engine beauty cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.

Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.




4. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.



5. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose (1) from the power steering pump inlet (2).
6. Remove the reservoir outlet hose from the vehicle.

1. Route the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir to the power steering pump.



2. Install the reservoir outlet hose (1) and the hose clamp to the power steering pump inlet (2).



3. Install the hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir outlet.
4. Install the engine beauty cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.

5. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
