Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1860292 Size: SH

    Important: Left hand drive shown, right hand drive similar.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery connector.
  2. Remove the instrument panel under cover. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 1860293 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the nuts securing the intelligent switching unit (ISU).
  6. Remove the ISU.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1860293 Size: SH
  1. Install the ISU with the nuts.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the ISU nuts to 9.5 N·m (84 lb in).

  2. Connect the electrical connectors.

  3. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement.
  4. Install the instrument panel under cover. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement.
  5. Connect the negative battery connector.
