(1) Change engine oil and the filter every 7 500 km (5,000 mi) or 6 months, whichever comes first, if the vehicle is operated under any of the following severe conditions:

    • Repeated short-distance driving less than 10 km (5 mi).
    • Extensive idling.
    • Driving on dusty roads.

(2) Inspect the air cleaner element every 7 500 km (5,000 mi) or 6 months if the vehicle is driven on dusty roads. If necessary, correct, clean, or replace.

(3) Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations .

(4) Inspect the engine coolant every 1 year or 15 000 km (10,000 mi) and replace it every 5 years or 240 000 km (150,000 mi).

(5) Replace every 160 000 km (100,000 mi).

(6) Inspect every 30 000 km (20,000 mi) or 2 years and replace every 160 000 km.

If the vehicle is mainly driven under the following severe conditions, replace every 60 000 km (36,000 mi):

    • Repeated short-distance driving less than 10 km (5 mi).
    • Extensive idling and/or slow-speed driving in stop-and-go traffic.
    • Driving on dusty roads.
    • Driving on hilly or mountainous terrain.
    • Towing a trailer.
    • Driving in heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 32°C (90°F) or higher.
    • Driving as a taxi, police, or delivery vehicle.
    • Frequent driving when outside temperature remains below freezing.

(5) Change the brake/clutch fluid every 15 000 km (10,000 mi) if the vehicle is frequently driven under the following severe conditions:

    • Driving in hilly or mountainous terrain.
    • Towing a trailer.

(6) More frequent maintenance is required if the vehicle is mainly driven under the following severe conditions:

    • Repeated short-distance driving less than 10 km (5 mi).
    • Extensive idling and/or slow-speed driving in stop-and-go traffic.
    • Driving on dusty roads.

(7) Tire condition should be inspected before driving and tire pressure should be checked each time you fill your fuel tank or at least once a month using a tire pressure gage.

(8) If necessary, rotate and balance wheels.

(9) If equipped with the 5-speed Aisin 55-51LE automatic transaxle, a fluid change is not required. Also, routine inspection of the fluid is not required. Transaxle fluid inspection is only required if there is a symptom indicating a concern with the fluid.

If equipped with the 6-speed GF-6 6T40/45 automatic transaxle, inspect the fluid every 40 000 km (25,000 mi) and change the fluid every 160 000 km (100,000 mi). If the vehicle is mainly driven under the following severe conditions, change the fluid every 80 000 km (50,000 mi):

    • Driving in heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 32°C (90°F) or higher.
    • Driving on hilly or mountainous terrain.
    • Towing a trailer.
    • Driving as a taxi, police, or delivery vehicle.
