Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1375162 Size: SH
  1. Relieve the pressure in the coolant reservoir by turning the coolant reservoir cap slightly counterclockwise.

    2. Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  2. Disconnect the negative battery.

    3. Object Number: 1375163 Size: SH
  3. Remove the variable intake system (VIS) vacuum tank. Refer to Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Vacuum Reservoir Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 1375165 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.
  5. Remove the ECT sensor from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1375166 Size: SH
  1. Coat the threads of the ECT sensor with sealer.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the ECT sensor and tighten to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
  3. Connect the ECT connector.

    4. Object Number: 1375175 Size: SH
  4. Install the VIS vacuum tank using the VIS vacuum tank retaining bolts and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb in). Refer to Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Vacuum Reservoir Replacement.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
  6. Fill the coolant system.
