 Injector Remover
Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning in the Preface section.
Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. 
 
- Remove the high pressure fuel pipes. Refer to 
Fuel Injector Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement.
 
- Remove the injector return hoses. Refer to 
Fuel Return Pipe Replacement.
 
- Disconnect the injector connector. 
 
- Remove the injector bracket plug. 
 
- Unscrew the injector bracket bolt. 
 
- Pull the injector bracket out from the injector using by the bolt manually. 
 
- Remove the injectors with the washer upward. 
 
Note: Number the injectors using a pen. If mixed up, it could influence engine performance. 
- If the injectors stick to the cylinder head, use 
EN-48357 
.
 
Installation Procedure
- Inspect and clean the injectors and nozzle tip. 
 
Note: Do not reuse the injector washers, leaks may results. Do not wipe clean the nozzle tip area. It may damage the nozzle hole.
- Install the injector with a new washer. 
 
- Insert the injector bracket into the injector groove. 
 
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the injector bracket bolt and tighten to 
28 N·m (20.7 lb ft). 
 
- Install the injector bracket plug and tighten to 
7 N·m (62.0 lb in). 
 
Note: Do not reuse the fuel pipes. If reused, the contaminated pipes may be damaged the injectors or leaked from the pipes. 
Note: If new injectors were installed or the injector sequence was changed, reprogram the injectors using scan tool. 
- Prime the fuel system. Refer to 
Fuel System Priming.
