Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2005 🢒 Equinox 🢒 Body 🢒 Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console 🢒 Instrument Panel Upper Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disable the frontal supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .

  3. Using a flat-bladed tool, lift up the upper trim pad covers.
  4. Remove the bolts holding the upper trim pad to the I/P retainer.

    5. Object Number: 1344270 Size: SH
  5. Lift the I/P upper trim panel from the vehicle.

    6. Object Number: 1407410 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the ambient light sensor from the upper trim pad.
  7. Remove the I/P upper trim panel from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the ambient light sensor to the upper trim pad.

    2. Object Number: 1407410 Size: SH
  2. Position the I/P upper trim panel in the vehicle. Snap the trim panel into place.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the bolts to the I/P upper trim panel.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Insert the bolt caps.
  5. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .

  6. Connect the ambient light sensor to the upper trim pad.
  7. Install the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
  8. Enable the frontal SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
