The passenger compartment outside air is routed through a passenger compartment
filter. The filter removes certain particles from the air, including pollen and dust
particles. Reductions in airflow, which may occur more quickly in dusty areas, indicate
that the filter needs to be replaced early.
The filter should be replaced as part of routine scheduled maintenance. See
Scheduled Maintenance
for when to replace
the filter.
To change the passenger compartment air filter, use the following steps:

passenger's side air inlet panel. It is located in the rear of the engine compartment
on the passenger side of the vehicle.
- Open the hood.

side air inlet panel.
