Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 935370  Size: SH
  4. If vehicle is equipped with all wheel drive (AWD) remove the propeller shaft underbody guard loop bolts and guard loop.

  5. Object Number: 927748  Size: SH

    Important: Support the fuel tank before removing the fuel tank strap bolt.

  6. Remove the fuel tank strap bolt, which also fastens the rear of the center heat shield.

  7. Object Number: 927713  Size: SH

    Important: The front and rear heat shields overlap and utilize common rivet attachment points.

  8. Remove the rivets.
  9. Remove the shield.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 927713  Size: SH
  1. Position the shield to the vehicle, aligning the front rivet locations which are common attachment points with the front heat shield.
  2. Install the rivets.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 927748  Size: SH
  4. Install the fuel tank strap bolt and tighten.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. If vehicle is equipped with AWD install the propeller shaft underbody guard loop and bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
