Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
  3. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  4. Remove the front tire/wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  5. Remove the left side engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement.
  6. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.

  8. Compress the power steering cooler pipe clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering cooler pipe (2) from the remote power steering fluid reservoir.

  9. Object Number: 1820215  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the power steering cooler pipe fitting (1) from the power steering gear.
  11. Unclip all power steering cooler pipe routing brackets.
  12. Remove the power steering cooler pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering cooler pipe to the vehicle.
  2. Reconnect all power steering cooler pipe routing brackets to the vehicle.
  3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1820215  Size: SH
  4. Connect the power steering cooler pipe fitting (1) to the power steering gear.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Compress the power steering cooler pipe clamp (1) and connect the power steering cooler pipe (2) to the remote power steering fluid reservoir.
  7. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  8. Install the left side engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement.
  9. Install the front tire/wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  10. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
  11. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement.
  12. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
