The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that while in A/C mode the A/C button is flashing and will not blow cold air. This may be the result of a low refrigerant charge in the A/C system. If a loss of R134a refrigerant is noted, check the lower front center of the A/C Condenser at the stone shield. A condenser leak may be found at the attachment point of this shield. This may be caused by the shield rubbing on the condenser.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Replace the A/C condenser as needed.
Note: The new A/C condenser does NOT come with a stone shield on it, and the old stone shield should NOT be transferred to the new part.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
