For 1990-2009 cars only
- Install NEW valve rocker arm cover grommets and use NEW valve rocker arm cover bolts if they are serviced with the grommet.
- Install a new gasket to the valve rocker arm cover. Ensure that the gasket is properly seated in the groove of the valve rocker arm cover.
- Apply sealer GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent to the joint surfaces (1) where the cylinder head and intake manifold meet.
- Install the valve rocker arm cover.
- Install the valve rocker arm cover bolts and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the PCV fresh air tube (533).
- Install the PCV fresh air tube clip (534) and bolt (535). Tighten the PCV fresh air tube bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Note: All gasket-mating surfaces need to be free of oil and foreign material. Use P/N 12378392 or equivalent to clean surfaces.
Note: Apply sealant GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent, at the cylinder head to lower intake manifold joint.
