Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to Wheel and Tire Removal in Wheels and Tires. (Link disabled for test).

Wheel drive shaft inner joint and seal. Refer to Wheel Drive shaft Inner Joint and Seal Replacement: in Driveline/Axle. (Link disabled for test).

Wheel drive shaft outer joint and seal. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint and Seal Replacement: in Driveline/Axle. (Link disabled for test).

Nut, Drive Axle

Caution: To prevent personal injury and/or component damage, do not allow the weight of the vehicle to load the front wheels, or attempt to operate the vehicle, when the wheel drive shaft(s) or wheel drive shaft nut(s) are removed. To do so may cause the inner bearing race to separate, resulting in damage to brake and suspension components and loss of vehicle control.

Tip: Replace the drive axle nut if it becomes loose or is removed.

Tighten: to 215 N·m (159 lb ft)

Tools Required:J 8059 Snap Ring Pliers

Clamp, Front Wheel Drive Shaft Constant Velocity (CV) Joint

Tighten: to 174 N·m (130 lb ft), the crimp gap should be no larger than 1.9 mm (0.075 in).

Clamp, Front Wheel Drive Shaft Tripot Joint Boot Inner

Tighten: to 136 N·m (100 lb ft), the crimp gap should be no larger than 2.15 mm (0.085 in).
