Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 234451 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cables. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly and air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls-6.5L.
  3. Remove the engine cover from the vehicle. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Remove the surge tank. Refer to Surge Tank (Diesel) Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  5. Remove the engine oil level indicator tube at the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Removal .

    6. Object Number: 173185 Size: SH
  6. Remove the oil engine level indicator tube O-ring from the engine oil tube.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 173185 Size: SH
  1. Install the new O-ring seal to the oil level indicator tube.

    2. Object Number: 234451 Size: SH
  2. Install the engine oil level indicator tube to the engine. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Installation .
  3. Install the engine oil level indicator tube bracket to the valve rocker arm cover.
  4. Install the surge tank. Refer to Surge Tank (Diesel) Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  5. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  6. Install the air cleaner assembly and air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  7. Connect the battery negative cables to the batteries. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
