Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 358441  Size: SH

    Notice: Do not run the engine without the oil pump drive in place. This will cause extensive engine damage.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cables from the batteries. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the engine cover from the vehicle. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Remove the turbocharger assembly from the engine block. Refer to Turbocharger .
  4. Remove the bolt and clamp from the oil pump drive.

  5. Object Number: 59768  Size: SH
  6. Remove the oil pump drive and the o-ring from the engine block.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 358444  Size: SH

    Important: Do not force the oil pump drive gear into place. The oil pump drive gear should slide into place with slight resistance.

  1. Apply clean engine oil to the new o-ring.

  2. Object Number: 59768  Size: SH
  3. Install the oil pump drive and o-ring to the engine.
  4. 2.1.  Index the drive with the camshaft gear and the oil pump drive shaft.
    2.2. Ensure that the drive seats fully.

  5. Install the bolt and clamp to the oil pump drive.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 42  N·m (31 lb ft).

    Important: Always replace the o-ring between the turbocharger and the upper intake manifold as well as to the o-ring between the turbocharger and the engine block.

  7. Install the turbocharger. Refer to Turbocharger .
  8. Install the engine cover in the vehicle. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Connect the battery negative cables to the batteries. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
