Filler Tube Replacement Passenger/Cargo Van
Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure
.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Wipe the vent hose connection
at the fuel tank and then disconnect the fuel filler tube and clamp.
- Wipe the fuel filler tube connection at the fuel tank and then
disconnect the fuel filler tube and clamp.
- Remove the fuel tube attaching screws (2) and the fuel filler
tube.
Installation Procedure
Important: The fuel tank filler neck clamps must be properly positioned and aligned.
Otherwise, the filler neck may become disconnected from the fuel tank.
- Install the fuel filler tube and the fuel filler tube attaching screws
(2).
- Connect the fuel filler vent hose and clamp.
- Connect the fuel filler tube hose and clamp.
- Reinstall the fuel tank filler cap.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Check for leaks.

Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative
battery cable.
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure
.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Wipe the vent hose connection at the fuel tank and then disconnect
the fuel filler tube and clamp.
- Wipe the fuel filler tube connection at the fuel tank and then
disconnect the fuel filler tube and clamp.
- Remove the fuel tube attaching screws (2) and the fuel filler
tube.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important: The fuel tank filler neck clamps must be properly positioned and aligned.

- Install the fuel filler
tube and the fuel filler tube attaching screws (2).
Tighten
Tighten the attaching screws to 2.75 N·m(24.3 lb in).
- Connect the fuel filler vent hose and clamp.
- Connect the fuel filler tube hose and clamp.
- Reinstall the fuel tank filler cap.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Check for leaks.
