Before any components of the park brake system are replaced, the following Pin Up procedures must be followed.

1. Remove the left kick panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
2. Place the park brake lever in the FULL upward position.
3. With one person in the vehicle, raise and support the vehicle.
4. With the second person, pull rearward on the front cable strand until the lever drum (2) reaches its full reset position (3).
5. Insert a scribe or nail (1) into the lever to hold the tension to its full reset position.
6. Remove the part that requires service.
