  1. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  2. Place the heater and the A/C controller mode switch in the OFF position.
  3. Place the blower motor switch in the HI position.

The Blower motor will not operate.

Blower Motor Always On

  1. Place the heater and the A/C controller mode switch in the HEAT position.
  2. Place the blower motor switch in the following positions:
  3. • LO
    • Medium 1
    • Medium 2
    • HI

The blower motor speed will increase from one position to the next.

  1. Place the blower motor switch in the HIGH position.
  2. Place the heater and A/C controller mode switch in each of the following positions:
  3. • Vent
    • Heat
    • Blend
    • Defrost

The blower motor will operate at high speed in each position.

The blower motor does not operate in one or more of the positions.

Control Assembly Replacement

  1. Place the blower motor switch in the LO position.
  2. Operate the blower motor at low speed for ten minutes.

The blower motor will run continuously.

The blower motor will operate for a short period of time, stop, then start again.

Blower Motor and Fan Replacement

The following procedure applies to vehicles equipped with an auxiliary blower motor.

  1. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  2. Place the auxiliary blower motor switch in the Off position.

Auxiliary blower motor will not operate.

Auxiliary Blower Motor Always On

Place the auxiliary blower motor switch in the following positions:

    • Low
    • Medium
    • High

Auxiliary blower motor speed will increase in each position.
