Engine Mount Replacement Front

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 290320  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Inspect the engine mounts. Refer to Engine Mount Inspection .
  3. Notice: When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley. Due to the small clearance between the oil pan and the oil pump screen, jacking against the oil pan may cause the pan to be bent against the pump screen. This will result in a damaged oil pickup unit.

  4. Install the pole jack on the engine locating tab just to the left rear of the power steering pump.

  5. Object Number: 66191  Size: SH
  6. Remove the front engine mount through bolt and the nut.
  7. Raise the front engine only enough to permit removal of the engine mount.

  8. Object Number: 68945  Size: SH
  9. Remove the front engine mount assembly bolts, nuts, and washers.
  10. Remove the front engine mount assembly.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front engine mount to the frame.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front engine mount assembly bolts to the frame.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 59 N·m (44 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount bracket with bolts to the engine block.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 59 N·m (44 lb ft).

  7. Lower the engine until the front engine mount through bolt can be inserted.
  8. Install the engine mount through bolt in the engine mount.
  9. Install the front engine mount through bolt and the nut.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the through bolt nut to 68 N·m (50 lb ft).

  11. Remove the pole jack from the engine locating tab.
  12. Connect the battery negative cables to the batteries. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.

Engine Mount Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 66075  Size: SH

    Notice: When raising or supporting the engine for any reason, do not use a jack under the oil pan, any sheet metal, or the crankshaft pulley. Due to the small clearance between the oil pan and the oil pump screen, jacking against the oil pan may cause the pan to be bent against the pump screen. This will result in a damaged oil pickup unit.

  1. Using a suitable transmission stand, support the transmission assembly.
  2. Remove the bolts and washers from the rear engine mount.
  3. Raise the transmission assembly just enough to permit removal of the rear engine mount.
  4. Remove the rear engine mount.

  1. Install the rear engine mount to the transmission.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.   3. Install the rear engine mount bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  5. Lower the rear of the engine.
  6. Install the nut and washer to the rear engine mount.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  8. Remove the transmission stand.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
