  1. Disconnect the radio C3 connector .
  2. Disconnect the connector at the remote compact disc player.
  3. Use a J 39200 digital multimeter in order to test for a short to ground on each of the harness wires in the radio C3 connector, refer to Testing for Short to Ground .

Is continuity present?

Use a J 39200 digital multimeter in order to inspect for an open in each of the harness wires between the radio connector and the remote compact disc player connector, refer to Testing for Continuity .

Is continuity present?

Repair the short to ground on the wires between the radio and the compact disc player. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 8

  1. Remove the remote compact disc player. Refer to Remote Compact Disc Player Replacement .
  2. Send the player in for repair.

Repair the open in the wires between the radio connector and the remote compact disc player connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
