Removal Procedure
Important: The door ajar switch is contained within the lock. Therefore, removal
of the lock will include the removal of the door ajar switch.
- Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to
Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Remove the rear run channel from the door. Refer to
Window Channel Replacement
.
- Remove the lock rods from
the lock.
- Remove the electrical connectors from the lock (1).
- Remove the lock rod guide from the door lock (1).
- Remove the bolts that retain the lock (1) to the door.
- Remove the lock (1) from the door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the lock (1) to
the door.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts
that retain the lock (1) to the door.
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the lock rod guide to the door lock (1).
- Install the electrical connectors to the lock (1).
- Install the lock rods to the lock (1).
- Install the rear run channel to the door. Refer to
Window Channel Replacement

- Install the water deflector. Refer to
Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement
.
- Install the front door trim panel. Refer to
Door Trim Panel Replacement
