Auxiliary Heater Core Replacement for Chevrolet Express 2002
Removal Procedure
- Remove the left rear quarter trim panel. Refer to
Body Side Rear Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the auxiliary heater case from the vehicle. Refer to
Heater Case Replacement
.
- Remove the screws from
the bottom of the auxiliary heater case.
- Remove the heater core
from the case.
Installation Procedure
- Install the heater core
to the case.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
to the bottom of the auxiliary heater case.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
- Install the auxiliary heater case to the vehicle. Refer to
Heater Case Replacement
.
- Install the left rear quarter trim panel. Refer to
Body Side Rear Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior
Trim.
