Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument panel driver knee bolster panel. Refer to
Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the screws that retain the relay center bracket to the instrument
panel driver knee bolster inner and outer brackets.
- Remove the relay center bracket from the instrument panel driver
knee bolster inner and outer brackets.
- Remove the nuts that retain the instrument panel driver knee bolster
deflector assembly and the driver knee bolster inner and outer brackets to
the instrument panel carrier.
- Remove the instrument panel driver knee bolster deflector assembly
and the driver knee bolster inner and outer brackets from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Position the instrument panel driver knee bolster deflector assembly
and the driver knee bolster inner and outer brackets to the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts
that retain the instrument panel driver knee bolster deflector assembly and
the driver knee bolster inner and outer brackets to the instrument panel
carrier.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the relay center bracket to the knee bolster brackets.
- Install the screws that retain the relay center bracket to the
instrument panel driver knee bolster inner and outer brackets.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the instrument panel driver knee bolster panel. Refer
