Removal Procedure
Raise and suitably support the vehicle with safety stands. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information
Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
Remove the brake caliper. Refer to
Brake Caliper Replacement
.
Remove the wheel bearings. Refer to
Front Wheel Hub, Bearing, and Seal Replacement
in Front Suspension.
Remove the rotor from the vehicle.
Inspect and clean all of the parts. Replace any parts as necessary.
Refinish the rotor if required. Refer to
Brake Rotor Refinishing
.
Installation Procedure
Install the rotor to the vehicle.
Install the wheel bearings and seal. Refer to
Front Wheel Hub, Bearing, and Seal Replacement
in Front Suspension.
Install the brake caliper. Refer to
Brake Caliper Replacement
.
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
Lower the vehicle.
Depress the brake pedal.
Burnish the front brake rotors and pads. Refer to
Brake Pad and Rotor Burnishing
