Removal Procedure
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement.
- Remove the charge air cooler inlet pipe. Refer to
Charged Air Cooler Hoses/Pipes Replacement.
- Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. Refer to
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement.
- Remove the EGR bracket at front of engine.
- Remove the fuel line/wire harness bracket bolts left front side of engine and position out of way.
- Remove the fuel rail bracket bolt under the air cleaner snorkel.
- Remove the pipe bracket bolt and bracket at front of the engine.
- Remove the 2 fuel pipe bracket bolts.
- Disconnect the fuel feed pipe fittings from the left fuel rail.
- Disconnect the fuel feed pipe from the right fuel rail.
- Remove the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe.
Installation Procedure
- Install the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Connect the fuel feed pipe fittings to the left fuel rail and tighten to
41 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Connect the fuel feed pipe to the right fuel rail and tighten to
41 N·m (30 lb ft).
- Install the 2 fuel pipe bracket bolts and tighten to
25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the fuel pipe bracket bolt and bracket at front of engine.
- Install the fuel rail bracket bolt under the air snorkel.
- Position back the fuel line/wire harness at the left front side of the engine and install the bolts.
- Install the EGR bracket at the front of engine.
- Install the EGR valve. Refer to
Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement.
- Install the charge air cooler inlet pipe. Refer to
Charged Air Cooler Hoses/Pipes Replacement.
- Prime the fuel system. Refer to
Fuel System Priming.
- Start the engine.
If the engine does not start, repeat the above step.
- Inspect the fuel system for fuel leaks.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement.
