Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Lower Left Side LMM
Removal Procedure
Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor and power steering pump bracket. Refer to
Compressor Mounting Bracket Replacement
.
Remove the upper left valve rocker arm cover. Refer to
Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Upper Left Side
.
Remove the glow plug nuts.
Remove the engine wire harness at glow plugs.
Remove the fuel injectors. Refer to
Fuel Injector Replacement
.
Remove the fuel injectors return hose clamp at the left rear of engine (1).
Remove the fuel feed and return line clamp bolt.
Remove the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts.
Remove the lower valve rocker arm cover.
Remove the gasket from the lower valve rocker arm cover.
Inspect the lower valve rocker arm cover gasket for damage, replace if necessary. Otherwise reuse the old gasket.
Installation Procedure
Install the lower valve rocker arm cover gasket.
Install the lower valve rocker arm cover.
Install the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Tighten the lower valve rocker arm cover bolts in the sequence shown to
10 N·m (89 lb in)
.
Install the fuel injectors return hose clamp at the left rear of engine (1).
Install the fuel feed and return line clamp bolt and tighten to
25 N·m (18 lb ft)
.
Install the fuel injectors. Refer to
Fuel Injector Replacement
.
Install the engine wire harness to glow plugs.
Install wires and nuts to glow plugs and tighten to
2 N·m (18 lb in)
.
Install the upper left valve rocker arm cover. Refer to
Valve Rocker Arm Cover Replacement - Upper Left Side
.
Install the A/C compressor and power steering pump bracket. Refer to
Compressor Mounting Bracket Replacement
.
