J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 924814  Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the coolant recover reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement.
  3. Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement.
  4. Remove the front evaporator hose nut  (1) from the condenser.

  5. Object Number: 924791  Size: SH
  6. Remove the evaporator inlet hose nut (1) from the front evaporator tube hose.
  7. Remove the evaporator inlet hose from the front hose.
  8. Remove the nut from the rear evaporator (If Equipped).
  9. Remove the front evaporator hose from the vehicle.
  10. Remove the sealing washers.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1190579  Size: SH
  1. Install the new sealing washers. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.
  2. Install the front evaporator tube into the vehicle.
  3. Install the front evaporator tube to the rear evaporator tube.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the rear evaporator tube retaining nut (1) (If Equipped) and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  6. Install the evaporator inlet hose to the front evaporator tube.

  7. Object Number: 924791  Size: SH
  8. Install the evaporator inlet hose nut to the front evaporator tube and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  9. Object Number: 924814  Size: SH
  10. Install the front evaporator tube to the condenser.
  11. Install the front evaporator tube nut (1) to the condenser and tighten to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).
  12. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement.
  13. Install the coolant recover reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement.
  14. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  15. Leak test the fittings of the components using the J 39400-A .
