Rattle Type Noise Coming From Front of Vehicle (Replace Power Steering Cooler Line Retainers)

Some customers may comment on a rattle type noise coming from the front of the vehicle when driving over bumps.

This condition may be caused by internal pressure spikes or pulses in the power steering cooler line.

Follow the procedure below to replace the retainers that secure the power steering cooler line to the front end lower tie bar.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.



2. Remove the two bolts that secure the power steering cooler line to the front end lower tie bar.
3. Remove the two plastic retainers from the power steering cooler line assembly and discard the retainers.



4. Install the three new clips, P/N 11562116, onto the cooler line as shown. The new clips will be installed at the same location as the original retainers were removed.
5. Secure the power steering cooler line assembly to the front end lower tie bar using a bolt, P/N 11516424, and nut, P/N 11514517.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

6. Lower the vehicle.
