Fuel Mixer Replacement for Chevrolet Express (CNG) 2002
Removal Procedure
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
.
- Remove the retaining clamp
(2) from the assembly.
- Separate the fuel mixer housing (1) from the throttle body adapter
(3).
- Remove the fuel mixer
retaining bolts (6).
- Separate the fuel mixer (1) from the throttle body adapter.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fuel mixer
(1) into the throttle body adapter (2) ensuring that all mounting surfaces
are clean.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fuel
mixer retaining bolts (6).
Tighten
Tighten the fuel mixer retaining bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
- Attach the fuel mixer
housing (1) to the throttle body adapter (3) using the retaining clamp (2).
Tighten
Tighten the clamp to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to
