Information on Speaker Options with U1C Radio - accessory UM7

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

A customer may comment that the rear speakers are inoperative.

The cargo van models come standard with a UM7 radio, AM/FM radio, which comes with two speakers mounted in the drivers and passenger front doors. When upgrading to the UIC radio, AM/FM radio with C/D, the order guide indicates this option comes with a six speaker system. This is incorrect, as the two speaker system is the only system available on the cargo van unless YF7/YF1 ( Upfitters Package) is ordered. The vehicle inquiry system (VISS) is in the process of being updated to indicate the above.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
