SIR Light On DTC B0058 B0059 B0065 and/or B0066 After SDM Replacement - kw belt code DTC indicator lamp part restraint seat seatbelt 03-09-40-005

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

The SIR/Air Bag light is on and DTC B0058, B0059, B0065 and/or B0066 after the SDM was replaced.

There is a first and second design seat belt on the 2003 Express and Savana van (7300 GVW and below). The first design has a seatbelt pretensioners and the second design does not have a pretensioners. Reference bulletin 03-09-40-005 on how to identify each system. Some of the early build second design seat belts were built with a first design SDM part number. Before these vans left the plant, the SDM was programmed with a new calibration, but the part number did not change. When a SDM is replaced on a second design seat belt, the second design SDM must be installed. If the SDM needs to be replaced on a second design seat belt use the following part numbers.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
