General Motors of Canada Limited will pay for repairs to the cutaway chassis during the Warranty Period in accordance with the terms, conditions and limitations contained in this booklet.
This warranty is for GM cutaway chassis registered in Canada and normally operated in Canada. GM warranty coverages may be void or subject to restrictions on GM vehicles that have been imported/exported for resale.
This warranty covers repairs to correct any cutaway chassis defect related to materials or workmanship occurring during the Warranty Period. Needed repairs will be performed using new or remanufactured parts.
The Warranty Period for all coverages begins on the date the chassis is first delivered or put in use and ends at the expiration of the coverage period.
For details regarding eligibility for a delay in the start of the warranty, see "Delayed Warranty Start" in the Things You Should Know About the New Cutaway Chassis Limited Warranty
Cutaway Chassis coverage includes the chassis frame, axle, engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, front cab, sheet metal, instrument panel and certain electrical components, as supplied by General Motors.
These components are covered for 3 years or 60 000 kilometres, whichever comes first, except for other coverages listed here under "What Is Covered" and those items listed under "What Is Not Covered".
The body company or tire manufacturer may provide warranty coverage in addition to the General Motors chassis warranty coverage. Review the supplier companies warranty information for coverage details.
The original tires on your cutaway chassis are covered against defects in material or workmanship for 3 years or 60 000 kilometres OR until the tire requires normal replacement, whichever comes first. Any tire replaced under warranty will be covered for the remaining portion of the original tire coverage period.
The Tire Manufacturer warranty coverage may extend beyond the General Motors of Canada Limited warranty coverage. See your Tire Manufacturer dealer for specific details.
Warranty repairs including Towing, Parts and Labour, will be made at No Charge
Towing is covered to the nearest GM dealership handling your chassis line, if your chassis cannot be driven because of a warranted defect.
Important: Cosmetic or surface corrosion (resulting from stone chips, dents or scratches in the paint, or failure to repair stone chips, dents or scratches in the paint or failure to repair paint damaged by stone chips, dents or scratches in the paint) is not included in the front cab sheet metal coverage.
To obtain cutaway chassis warranty repairs, take the chassis to the GM dealership handling your chassis line within the Warranty Period and request the needed repairs. A reasonable time must be allowed for the dealership to perform the necessary repairs.
All GM approved accessories marketed and sold by General Motors of Canada Limited that are permanently installed on a GM cutaway chassis prior to delivery will be covered under the provisions of the New Cutaway Chassis Limited Warranty. In the event GM accessories are installed after vehicle delivery or are replaced under the new vehicle warranty, they will be covered (parts and labour) for the balance of the vehicle warranty, but in no event less than 12 months/20 000 kilometres. This coverage is only effective for GM approved accessories permanently installed by a GM dealer or an associated GM-approved Accessory Distributor/Installer (ADI).
GM accessories sold over-the-counter, or those not requiring installation, will continue to receive the standard GM Dealer Parts Warranty for 12 months from the date of purchase (parts only). GM Licensed Accessories are covered under the accessory-specific manufacturer's warranty and are not warranted by GM or its dealers.
