Removal Procedure
- Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
- Reposition the clamp from the radiator inlet using the
J 38185
.
- Reposition the clamp from the engine using the
J 38185
.
- Remove the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.
- Remove the radiator inlet hose from the engine.
- Remove the radiator inlet hose (5).
Installation Procedure
- Install the radiator inlet hose (5).
- Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.
- Install the radiator inlet hose to the engine.
- Position the hose clamp from the engine using the
J 38185
.
- Position the hose clamp from the radiator inlet engine the
J 38185
.
- Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement LLY
Removal Procedure
Tools Required

Hose Clamp Pliers
- Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
.
Caution: To avoid being burned, do not remove the radiator cap or surge tank
cap while the engine is hot. The cooling system will release scalding fluid
and steam under pressure if radiator cap or surge tank cap is removed while
the engine and radiator are still hot.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Using
J 38185
, reposition the radiator inlet hose clamps.
- Remove the radiator hose from the radiator.
- Remove the radiator hose from the engine.
Installation Procedure
Important: Lubricate the inside diameters of the hoses with clean coolant prior to installation.
- Install the radiator inlet hose to the engine.
- Install the radiator inlet hose to the radiator.
- Using
J 38185
, reposition the radiator inlet hose clamps.
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
.
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Leak test the cooling system. Refer to
Cooling System Leak Testing
