Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  2. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
  3. Remove the left fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Left Side.
  4. Remove the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Right Side.
  5. Remove the left fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Left Side.

  6. Object Number: 1732300  Size: SH
  7. Disconnect the fuel rail temperature (FRT) sensor electrical connector.
  8. Remove the fuel return pipe. Refer to Fuel Return Pipe Replacement.

  9. Object Number: 1732079  Size: SH
  10. Remove the 2 fuel rail bolts and the fuel rail assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1732079  Size: SH
  1. Position the fuel rail assembly and install the 2 bolts and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
  2. Install the fuel return pipe. Refer to Fuel Return Pipe Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 1732300  Size: SH
  4. Connect the FRT sensor electrical connector.
  5. Install the left fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Left Side.
  6. Install the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Right Side.
  7. Install the left fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Left Side.
  8. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement.
  9. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming.
  10. Start the engine.
  11. If the engine does not start, repeat the above step.

  12. Inspect the fuel system for fuel leaks.
  13. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
