Removal Procedure
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Disconnect the chassis wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the fuel pressure sensor (2).
- Remove the chassis wirng harness clip (3) from the fuel pipe.
- Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure sensor fitting in order to absorb any fuel that may leak out.
- Remove the fuel pressure sensor from the fuel line.
- Remove and discard the fuel pressure sensor O-ring seal.
Installation Procedure
- Lubricate a NEW fuel pressure sensor O-ring seal with clean engine oil.
- Install the NEW fuel pressure sensor O-ring seal onto the fuel line fitting.
- Wrap a shop towel around the fuel pressure sensor fitting in order to absorb any fuel that may leak out.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the fuel pressure sensor to the fuel line and tighten the sensor to
15 N·m (11 lb ft).
- Connect the chassis wiring harness electrical connector (1) to the fuel pressure sensor (2).
- Install the chassis wiring harness clip (3) to the fuel pipe.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Use the following procedure in order to inspect for leaks:
8.1. | Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF, for 2 seconds. |
8.2. | Turn the ignition OFF for 10 seconds. |
8.3. | Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF. |
8.4. | Inspect for fuel leaks. |
