The torque converter clutch pulse width modulation (TCC PWM) solenoid valve controls the fluid acting on the converter clutch valve. The converter clutch valve controls the TCC application and release. The solenoid attaches to the control valve body within the transmission. The solenoid receives voltage through the ignition voltage circuit. The transmission control module (TCM) controls the solenoid by providing a ground path on the TCC PWM solenoid valve control circuit. Current flows through the solenoid coil according to the duty cycle, percentage of ON and OFF time. The TCC PWM solenoid valve provides a smooth engagement of the TCC by operating during a duty cycle percent of ON time.
The engine speed is 500 RPM for 5 seconds.
The TCM commands the solenoid ON and the voltage feedback remains high B+.
• | The TCM detects an open in the TCC PWM solenoid valve circuit when the TCC PWM is commanded ON. |
• | The TCM detects a short to ground in the TCC PWM solenoid valve circuit when the TCC PWM is commanded ON. |
• | DTCs P2763 and P2764 are Type B DTCs. |
• | The TCM commands maximum line pressure. |
• | The TCM forces TCC OFF. |
• | The TCM inhibits 4th gear if in Hot Mode. |
• | The TCM freezes transmission adaptive functions. |
DTCs P2763 and P2764 are Type B DTCs.

⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the ignition circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal and the ignition circuit fuse is open, test all components connected to the ignition circuit and replace as necessary. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the TCM. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the TCM. |
⇒ | If not within the specified range, test the circuits for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If a circuit is shorted or open replace the internal transmission harness, if the circuits test normal, replace the TCC PWM solenoid. |
⇒ | If not the specified value, test the circuits for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If a circuit is shorted replace the internal transmission harness, if the circuits test normal, replace the TCC PWM solenoid. |
