Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 765121  Size: SH
  1. Apply the parking brake.
  2. Position the steering column shift lever to park.
  3. Remove the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Replacement.
  4. Remove the knee bolster bracket. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement.
  5. Remove the clip securing the shift cable to the steering column bracket.
  6. Remove the shift cable from the steering column shift control.
  7. Pull back the carpet and insulation to gain access to the shift cable pass-through grommet.
  8. Remove the rubber grommet from the floor panel.
  9. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  10. Object Number: 765122  Size: SH
  11. Remove the shift cable from the stud ball.
  12. Remove the locking clip from the cable at the bracket.
  13. Unclip the cable from the retainers at the fuel lines and body.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Remove the shift cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 105220  Size: SH

    Important: Prior to installing the shift cable to the vehicle, ensure that the column shift lever and the transmission control lever are in the mechanical park position. The transmission control lever can be positioned to mechanical park by rotating the control lever clockwise until it reaches its full clockwise position.

  1. Install the shift cable to the vehicle.
  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Remove the black shipping tab from the transmission end of the shift cable and discard the tab.

  5. Install the shift cable to the transmission bracket.
  6. Install the cable clip.
  7. Install the shift cable end to the transmission shift control lever by pushing the cable end onto the transmission shift control lever stud ball.
  8. Lock the primary lock.
  9. Lock the secondary lock.
  10. Attach the shift cable to the fuel line and body clips.
  11. Lower the vehicle.

  13. Install the rubber grommet to the floor panel.
  14. Important: Ensure the shift lever is in the Park position.

  15. Install the shift cable to the steering column shift control.
  16. Install the clip securing the shift cable to the steering column bracket.
  17. Install the cable to the shift lever ball stud.
  18. Adjust the shift cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
  19. Install the knee bolster bracket. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement.
  20. Install the knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Replacement.
