Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 857523  Size: SH
  1. Remove the front seat from the vehicle. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement.
  2. Remove the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement.
  3. Remove the bolts (7) retaining the seat back hinge/recliner mechanisms (6) to the seat cushion frame. Refer to Front Seat Back Hinge and Recliner Mechanism Replacement.

  4. Object Number: 333622  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts (4) retaining the seat cushion frame to the adjuster.

  6. Object Number: 860915  Size: SH
  7. Remove the power seat switch bracket (2), if equipped.
  8. Warning: Replace the passenger presence system as a complete assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.

  9. If replacing the front passenger seat cushion pad, you must also replace the inflatable restraint passenger presence system. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Passenger Presence System Replacement - Front.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 860915  Size: SH
  1. Position the power seat switch bracket (2) to the seat cushion frame, if equipped.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the screws (3) to retain the power seat switch bracket and tighten to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Object Number: 333622  Size: SH
  5. Install the bolts (4) retaining the seat cushion frame to the adjuster.
  6. Install the bolts (4) to retain the seat cushion frame to the adjuster and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Object Number: 857523  Size: SH
  8. Install the bolts (7) to retain the seat cushion frame.
  9. Install the bolts (7) and tighten to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).
  10. Install the seat cushion cover and pad. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover and Pad Replacement.
  11. Install the front seat into the vehicle. Refer to Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement.
  12. Warning: To avoid personal injuries, re-zero the passenger presence system whenever you remove or replace the seat cushion or trim. Failure to do so may cause the system to malfunction.

  13. Re-zero the inflatable restraint passenger presence system whenever the seat cushion or any component of the passenger presence system is removed. Refer to Control Module References.
