Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Hood Hold-Open Device Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 314940 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the hood.
  2. Remove the bolt (1) retaining the hood support rod (2) to the vehicle.
  3. Remove the support rod (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 314940 Size: SH
  1. Install the support rod (2) to the vehicle.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Install the bolt (1) in order to retain the hood support rod to the vehicle and tighten to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
  3. Remove the alternate support.
  4. Close the hood.
