Preliminary Procedures
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
- Without disconnecting the wiring harness connectors, reposition the electrical center and powertrain control modules from the underhood electrical center bracket and remove the bracket from the vehicle. Refer to
Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Bracket Replacement
.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake fluid level sensor.

| Master Cylinder Reservoir Clutch Hose Quick-Connect Fitting (if equipped)
Tip
• | Disconnect the quick-connect on the reservoir clutch hose from the clutch master cylinder. |
• | Plug the reservoir clutch hose end to prevent fluid loss and contamination. |
• | Cap the nipple on the clutch master cylinder to prevent fluid loss and contamination. |

| Fittings, Brake Pipe (Qty: 2)
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Tip
• | Disconnect the brake pipes from the master cylinder. |
• | Cap the open brake pipes to prevent fluid loss and contamination. |
Tighten 21 N·m (14 lb ft) |

| Nut, Master Cylinder Mounting (Qty: 2)
Tighten 22 N·m (15 lb ft) |

| Cylinder, Brake Master
Tip
• | If the master cylinder is to be reused, plug the open brake pipe ports to prevent fluid loss and contamination. |

| Seal, Master Cylinder
Tip
• | Inspect the master cylinder to vacuum booster seal for damage. Replace the seal if necessary. |
• | Ensure the master cylinder to vacuum booster seal is properly seated in the groove on the master cylinder body before installing the master cylinder assembly to the vacuum booster. |
