Preliminary Procedure

1. Remove the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement .
2. Remove the bolts securing the brake pedal assembly to the carrier. Refer to Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement .
3. Remove the air distribution duct assembly. Refer to Air Distributor Duct Replacement .
4. Remove the right defogger outlet duct assembly. Refer to Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side .
5. Remove the left defogger outlet duct assembly. Refer to Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side .

Instrument Panel Tie Bar Assembly to HVAC Module Bolts (Qty: 3)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
4 N·m (35 lb in)

Instrument Panel Tie Bar Assembly to Body Bolts (Qty: 6)

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Instrument Panel Tie Bar Assembly to HVAC Module Nut (Qty: 1)

Tighten
4 N·m (35 lb in)

Instrument Panel Tie Bar Assembly

Tip

1. Note the routing of the wiring harness prior to removal to ensure proper reinstallation.
2. With the aid of an assistant, remove the carrier from the vehicle.
