The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Customers may comment that there is a whistle noise from the Instrument panel area when the vehicle is moving that gets louder the faster the vehicle is driven. The noise may occur when the HVAC mode knob is set to the IP vent mode, the HVAC blower is off, and the IP vents closed.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Advise the customer that this is a characteristic of the vehicle. Also inform the customer to change the HVAC mode to floor or defrost to resolve the whistle concern.

Note: Opening the IP vents will also eliminate the whistle noise.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
