Condition

Some customers may comment that the sunroof glass makes noise when opening and closing or the sunroof glass is scratched.

Cause


Object Number: 2067670  Size: MF

This condition may be caused by contact between two down-turned sheet metal flanges and the sunroof glass.

Correction

  1. Remove the sunroof glass.
  2. Important: Protect the interior of the vehicle before filing.

  3. File 2 mm (.079 in) off the down-turned flange.
  4. Sand down all sharp edges.
  5. Touch up the bare metal with an approved two-part epoxy primer before using the color touch up paint.
  6. Refer to the latest revision of the GM Approved Refinish Materials book to identify the paint systems you may use that have been engineered to meet GM standards. The GM Approved Refinish Materials book supplies all approved products, including volatile organic compound (VOC) compliant regulations recommended by the individual manufacturer, and detailed procedures for materials used in their paint system.   7. Reinstall the sunroof glass. Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment.
