Caution: Replace the passenger presence system as a complete
assembly to prevent possible injury to the occupant. All the components in the service
kit are assembled and calibrated as a unit. Using only some of the components in the
service kit will cause the passenger presence system to operate improperly.
Preliminary Procedure
- Remove the front seat. Refer to
Front Seat Replacement - Bucket

- Remove the seat riser outboard finish cover. Refer to
Front Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the seat recliner inboard finish covers. Refer to
Front Seat Back Recliner Inner Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the seat recliner outboard finish covers. Refer to
Front Seat Back Recliner Outer Trim Panel Replacement

| Restraint, Front Seat Head
Tip Depress the button on the outboard head restraint guide and pull up to raise and remove the head restraint. |

| Guide, Front Seat Head Restraint (Qty: 2)
Tip Reach up and into the top of the seat back, while pressing the tabs on the bottom of the head restraint guide, pull the guide from the seat back frame. |

| Cover, Seat Back Cushion
Tip Disconnect the j-channel from the seat back frame and remove the pad and cover as an assembly. |

| Pad, Seat Back Cushion Cover

Tip The hog rings that attach the seat back cushion cover to the pad must be removed so that the pad can be separated from the cover. |

| Heater Assembly, Seat Back Cushion
Tip
- On heated seats, cut the plastic tag pins from the original heater assembly.
- When installing a new heater element, attach the element to the cover with the pre-applied adhesive.
- When reusing the original heater element, attach the heater assembly to the cushion cover with 3M® 6035PC two-sided adhesive tape or equivalent. Apply the tape to the cross-hatched sections shown in the diagram. Attach the element to the cushion
cover with the wires facing down, away from the cover.
