🢒 Fuel Hose/Pipes Replacement - Chassis
Removal Procedure
Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to
Fuel Pressure Relief
.
Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
Disconnect the fuel feed pipe from the fuel rail. Refer to
Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
Cap or plug the fuel pipe and the engine fuel rail to prevent contamination.
Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) pipe from the purge solenoid. Refer to
Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
Cap or plug the EVAP pipe in order to prevent contamination.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister, if necessary. Refer to
Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement
.
Disconnect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting. Refer to
Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
Remove the brake lines from the fuel/EVAP/brake line brackets.
Remove the fuel/EVAP/brake line bracket nuts and remove the brackets from the body studs.
Remove the fuel and EVAP lines from the vehicle.
Open the brackets and remove the fuel feed pipe.
Installation Procedure
Install the fuel feed pipe to the brackets and close the covers.
Install the fuel and EVAP lines to the vehicle.
Install the fuel/EVAP/brake line bracket to the body studs.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the fuel/EVAP/brake line bracket nuts and tighten to
10 N·m (89 lb in)
.
Install the brake lines to the fuel/EVAP/brake line brackets.
Connect the fuel feed pipe quick connect fitting. Refer to
Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
Install the canister, if necessary. Refer to
Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement
.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the cap or plug from the EVAP pipe.
Connect the EVAP pipe to the purge solenoid. Refer to
Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
Remove the cap or plug from the fuel pipe and the engine fuel rail.
Connect the fuel feed pipe to the fuel rail. Refer to
Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
.
Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to
Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
.
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure:
15.1.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF for 2 seconds.
15.2.
Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
15.3.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
15.4.
Inspect for fuel leaks.
